Driving is something that many Tennessee residents take for granted. However, getting behind the wheel and hitting the road is statistically the most dangerous thing most people do on a day-to-day basis. Safely operating a motor vehicle requires constant focus and attention. When a driver takes his or her eyes off the road for just a split second it can be enough to cause serious or deadly motor vehicle accidents.

Details Of A Recent Fatal Accident

Recently in Ashland City, a violent crashย claimed the life of a driver and injuredย another. The accident happened at night near the 3600 block of Petway Road. According to reports from the Tennessee Highway Patrol, a sedan driven by a 15-year-old was headed south on Petway Road when, for unknown reasons, the sedan crossed the centerline of the roadway.

Reports said the sedan crashed head-on into a northbound SUV, causing both vehicles to spin counterclockwise before coming to rest. Tragically, authorities said the driver of the northbound SUV was killed in the crash. The driver of the sedan suffered unspecified injuries. The Tennessee Highway Patrol said charges against the 15-year-old driver of the sedan are pending.

Help Isย Available For Victims And Families

The actions of other drivers are completely unpredictable. Thereโ€™s no way to know when a serious or fatal wreck will occur. Those in Tennessee who have suffered injuries or the unfortunate loss of a loved one due toย negligence in a motor vehicle accidentย reserve the right to consult an attorney and pursue legal recourse. Damages from a successfully litigated lawsuit could help ease the pain and suffering of affected victims and families.
